In higher education, nothing is assumed. Educators must show gains in measurable performance outcomes of their students. They develop assessment methods that align with their organization, their goals in instruction and gather results to verify their successes. ACRL has crafted a statement of assessment aligned with Information Literacy standards and speaks to the function of librarians as educators.
