Faculty Publishing

This guide exists to help Walsh faculty and scholars with the publication and dissemination of their work.

Overview

OhioLINK, Ohio’s academic library consortium, has secured five transformative “read and publish” agreements with major academic publishers. These agreements allow faculty at participating institutions to publish open access articles at no cost—no Article Processing Charges (APCs) for authors or their institutions.

At the article level, OhioLINK’s open access (OA) publishing agreements have saved institutions an average of $3,613 per article in APCs.

From 2022 through May 2025, OhioLINK institutions have published 6,010 articles for a total APC cost avoidance of $21,715,318.

Key Benefits for Faculty Authors

  • Free Open Access Publishing: Authors can publish in eligible journals without paying APCs.
