Scores and Sheet Music

  • Choral Public Library
    Search for free choral sheet music alphabetically or by era/genre/voicing. Subcategories include searching by language.
  • Digital Mozart Edition
    The DME aims to appeal to a broad international audience, offering access to the life and works of Mozart, not only for scholars and professional musicians, but for all music enthusiasts. Original site is in German but there is an English version (click the upper right hand corner to change the language)
  • e-codices: Virtual Manuscript Library of Switzerland
    The goal of e-codices - Virtual Manuscript Library of Switzerland is to provide access to all medieval and selected early modern manuscripts of Switzerland via a virtual library.
  • IMSLP/Petrucci Music Library
    Access to the world's public domain music, including more than 200,000 music scores and more than 20,000 audio recordings.
  • Music for the Nation: American Sheet Music 1870-1885
    Part of the Library of Congress American Memory Project, this site contains more than 47,000 pieces of sheet music including popular songs, piano music, sacred and secular choral music, solo instrumental music and music for bands and orchestra.
  • Musopen
    Non-profit focused on improving access and exposure to music by creating free resources and educational materials. We provide recordings, sheet music, and textbooks to the public for free, without copyright restrictions. Put simply, our mission is to set music free.
  • Mutopia
    The Mutopia Project offers sheet music editions of classical music for free download. These are based on editions in the public domain, and include works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Handel, Mozart, and many others.
  • ScorSer
    Music search engine for scores, sheet music, tabs, backing tracks, lyrics, mp3 and other necessary information. Music has no language boundaries, searchable in a variety of languages.
  • Sheet Music Consortium
    The Sheet Music Consortium is a group of libraries working toward the goal of building an open collection of digitized sheet music. Sheet music is browsable by repository, title, composer, publisher and date.
  • University of Rochester
    Scores and books in the public domain. Many of these are unique to the Sibley Music Library collection.
