Finding Company Ratio Information

To create company comparison (including ratios) reports:

  2. Make sure you select the company you want. Sometimes international subsidiaries etc. are also listed.
  3. Click on the company name. This will open a new window. Then click on the Company Financials tab.
  4. Choose Ratios from the menu bar. The Mergent Online default range is set to the current 5 years. To view more years, use the pull-down menu next to "Period"  5 Years/Quarters. Download directly to Excel using the link in the upper right-hand corner or do a comparison report.
  5. To compare your company against its industry, choose the Report Builder tab. Then click Comparison Reports.
  6. OR  create your own competitor group using the Competitor tab. Select the companies you want to include in the report and add to Company Analysis list on the right-hand side.
  7. Then you will see a screen that allows you to choose the ratios or other information you want to include. Use the > (arrow) keys to move selected items over to the report box. To include multiple years, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and highlight the years you want to include.
  8. Check the Include Average box if you want industry averages included for the whole industry.
  9. Select your report format (HTML, PDF, WORD, EXCEL) and click Create Report.
