ETD Submission Workflow:

  1. Login or verify you are logged into the ETD Admin Center. If you are logged in you will see your Walsh email address in the top right corner.
  2. Click the red button, "Submit a New ETD". This will create a new ETD submission form. Fill out the questions as prompted. Below are a few questions that are of particular importance and should be completed as recommended.

Notable ETD Submission Form Fields

OhioLINK ETD Center Publication Agreement
  • Authors should read through this publication agreement carefully.  When you submit your ETD to OhioLINK, you give OhioLINK and Walsh University permission to make your ETD available for open access on the Internet, including access through major Internet search engines.
  • Please Note: Authors RETAIN OWNERSHIP RIGHTS TO THE COPYRIGHT OF THEIR WORK. You will have the option to choose a copyright license in the submission process.

  • Subjects are required. Choose relevant subjects from the list. You must have at least one subject. Having more will improve your works discoverability.

Copyright
  • Licensing Permissions - You must choose one. The Library recommends choosing Copyright, all rights reserved. This option reserves all rights for your work and may be required should you choose to publish it elsewhere later.
    • Note: Creative Commons licenses are irrevocable. This means that once you publish your work under a Creative Commons license you cannot withdraw the Creative Commons license.
  • Delay (Embargo) - In some cases a delay or embargo may be placed on the public visibility of the full-text of a work. Embargos are often requested when authors are in negotiations with publishers on the publication of their work. Please contact the Library directly if you request a delay to provide the reason for your request and to see what length of delays are available.
ProQuest ETD & Google
  • Authors may request that their work is contributed to ProQuest's ETD and is made discoverable to Google by ProQuest but are not required to do so.
Upload Documents
  • Upload your Thesis/Dissertation as an accessible PDF and choose the document type Thesis/Dissertation.
  • You may upload additional supplementary documents and/or your Digital Accessibility Report (DAR). Adobe Acrobat can generate a report but the report will need to be saved as a PDF to be uploaded.

Reviewing your ETD

Reviewing Your Submission
  • Preview ETD - Use the Preview ETD to verify the information entered for your Thesis/Dissertation is correct. The Preview will show you how your work will appear to the public once it is published.
  • Submit My ETD - If everything in your submission entry is correct you may submit your ETD for review and publication.
    • Important - If after submitting your work you discover an error or mistake, please reach out to the library as soon as possible with the correct information. Once an ETD is published it is considered completed work and is now a permanent part of the research collection.

Submitting your ETD

Once you have completed the submission form, filling out all required fields (marked with a red asterisk), be sure to read through the information on the last page of the form, titled "Review". This is your opportunity to catch any changes or corrections needed and be able to fix it yourself. A submitted ETD moves on to Walsh University's reviewers and administrator, and you will not be able to edit the submission further.

  • To submit the final version of your ETD, click the "Submit my ETD" button on the right side of the screen.
  • If the "Submit My ETD" button is missing from the "Review" page, go through each page to ensure that nothing required was left blank or not completed.

View your published ETD

Once your ETD is published and you are logged into the ETD Center, you'll see a "Quick Links" box on the homepage.
