U.S. Census Data
U.S. Census Bureau's primary platform for accessing a wide range of demographic, economic, and geographic data. It replaces the former American FactFinder tool, offering centralized and user-friendly access to comprehensive census data.

Data.gov
The purpose of data.gov is to increase public access to high value, machine readable datasets generated by the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. The site seeks to become "a repository for all the information the government collects". The site would publish to the public any data that is not private or restricted for national security reasons.
State and Local Government on the Net
Many agencies offer state and local level data. This site is organized by state with links to state offices and departments such as Housing and Community Development. Links to city level web pages are often available. Also offers search by topics such as Health and Aging to locate agency links.
Statistical Abstract of the United States
Contains statistics focused on American social and economic condition. Also includes some international data.
U.S. Census Bureau
Contains statistical and demographic information about the United States population.
World FactBook
Contains CIA-collected demographic, political, and economic information for countries throughout the world.
World Population Review
World Population Review turns complex demographic information into easy-to-understand articles on population of countries and cities.

Sometimes the best way to find statistics is to use Google and restrict your results to governmental websites.
