In text citations
When you use an idea you found in another author's work, you need to tell your reader where you found that idea.
You tell them by using an in-text citation
In-text citations include the author's name, the year the work was published and the page number where you found the information.
A citation has enough information for your reader to match the words or ideas with the source on your References or Works Cited list
Use in-text citations whether it's a direct quotation or a paraphrase.
You're part of an ongoing intellectual conversation
