Current principal project engineer working at Lockheed Martin, Celia Blum is the original inspiration to this website. She is currently working on the Orion Spacecraft, while specifically working on Exploration Mission – 1 (EM-1). In 2016, Blum was awarded 3 respected awards, WIA’s Achievement Award, Technology All-Star Award, and a NASA Silver Snoopy Award, due to her contributions not only within the current Orion spacecraft but also her leadership skills that accompany it. Her awards were based off her leadership in reducing the mass of the Orion Crew Module pressure vessel for EM-1. This flight is the first of many due to take off under the Orion Project, taking astronauts beyond low Earth Orbit for the first time since Apollo.
